Bathtub Finger Paints

The best yard sale item I have ever purchased was a book by John E. Thomas and Danita Pagel called "The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions." I paid a whole $0.75 for it and Jace and I have had a lot of fun getting down and dirty and drawing closer as Aunt and Nephew!

Our project yesterday, we found on page 14, Bathtub Finger Paints. These recipes are super easy and super fun. Its all (mostly) house hold items you already have and its all earth/kid friendly. These recipes allow the kiddos to get messy and as involved as you want them to be.

Being a boy...*giggle*...he LOVES to get dirty! The dirtier and better! The recipe calls for :
1/3 cup of clear, mild liquid dish soap
1 Tbs cornstarch
Food Coloring

Jace pouring the soap into the measuring cup

Pouring in the cornstarch

Mixing, mixing and more mixing

This mixture makes six equal portions if
they're poured in an egg carton.
It only takes two drops of food coloring for each section.
(The red, though, we dropped in three, to give us a deeper shade)

We decided to do our primary and secondary colors:
Red - Yellow - Blue
Green - Purple - Orange
The straw worked really good for small
hands and small sections.
All done!!! Good Job!!!
(Hahaha...it looks like a promo for
Dawn Dish Soap!)

Finished project...super fun, super easy!
